Communications guidelines for scams and fraud resources

in Resources, Influencing Policy & Practice

The Commissioner has been working with groups of older people throughout Wales to examine ways to make information about scams and financial fraud more engaging and impactful.

The information and ideas shared by older people at these events have been used to create a short set of helpful guidelines which highlight key things to consider when developing awareness raising materials, such as language and imagery. A summary of the guidelines is also available.

We hope you find the guidelines useful and that they support you to reach out to older people more effectively, to help ensure people have the information they need to protect themselves against scams and fraud.

Please feel free to share the guidelines with any colleagues or contacts you think may also find them useful, or to share them via your social media channels.

If you would like to discuss the guidelines further, please contact the Commissioner’s Safeguarding Lead, Andrea Cooper by emailing andrea.cooper@olderpeople.wales.
